Part: 3 Biblical purpose for marriage as i have managed to get them from the bible

4. PROTECTION

 A person or thing that protects someone or something, or a legal or other formal measure intended to preserve civil liberties and rights.

We have looked at three purposes for marriage which are

• Companionship
• Fruitfulness
• Typify Christ and the Church

Then we are looking for the fourth one as we are waiting for the remaining three,

I begin with Solomon talking in the book of Ecclesiastics as he states it

Ecc 4:9- 12 Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone? And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

Solomon is trying to explain to us that they will have good rewards for their labour. Marriage is work and to those who are in it know that it is work and in is labouring but when two are having one vision one mind one idea and labouring towards the same goal it is ultimately going to yield the best reward. Marriage is a place of protection in the context that everyone is to protect another person from falling, as google gave us a meaning that it is protecting someone from something or formal measure for preserving civil right. Solomon in the literal sense was talking about the true cold and that is a fact the other partner can be better than a duvet, but in the spiritual sense it is also sensible as we remember Jesus talking about endtimes in Mathews 24:12 The love of the many shall wax cold”, which means when a husband and wife are both born again the fire and the heat of Christ will grow in their house and that is the beginning of Church.

This is practical look at families of Pastors, Reverends and Apostles who are united together in ministry with their spouses, it creates warmth and protection in the family and ministry.

Any man or woman who is anointed, blessed or even brilliant who is at a marriageable age will most of the time create a few storms in a place BUT you become secured when someone mentions that I AM MARRIED, although the devil has created passion on the wicked ones that  the married are the ones the wicked ones are chasing BUT thank God because that MARRIAGE IS THE ONLY PROTECTION AGAINST SUCH VILES OF THE ENEMY. Numerically the bible is talking of one man chasing a thousand and two chasing ten thousand which tells us that, we are capable of fighting any contingent of any group or company of any enemy coming against us as a family.

Protection comes also to children, marriage protects family from any vulnerability from outside that is why the children from divorced and dysfunctioning families go through a lot problems because the lucked protection from marriage.

When I was going through an article someone was listing some INTRUDERS INTO FAMILIES, I just picked a few where are

• Affairs
• Rejections from flaws, failure, and weaknesses
• Differences, Interests and preferences
• Friends and families

When I am looking at a few intruders I have mentioned above, surely MARRIAGE PROTECT if we understand all the purposes of Marriage.

1. Affairs, to be sincere there is nothing that the other person has that your spouse does not have as far sexual organ is concerned. And in-case there is something different which are not natural people can change for the better only if you understand one another.

2. Rejection from flaws, failures and weaknesses. Paul told the Corinthians very clearly in

 1 Co 13:4 Love is never tired of waiting; love is kind; love has no envy; love has no high opinion of itself, love has no pride; Love’s ways are ever fair, it takes no thought for itself; it is not quickly made angry, it takes no account of evil; It takes no pleasure in wrongdoing, but has joy in what is true; Love has the power of undergoing all things, having faith in all things, hoping all things.

Love here in in any marriage has PROTECTED YOUR FLAWS FAILURES AND WEAKNESSES.

3. Differences, Interests and Preferences. Marriage PROTECTS THIS BECAUSE THE BIBLE SAYS that LOVE DOES NOT THINK FOR ITSELF, LOVE HAS NO HIGH OPINION FOR ITSELF. So MARRIAGE PROTECTS BECAUSE YOUR INTEREST PREFERENCE AND DIFFERENCE IS NOW FOCUSED ON BUILDING THIS MARRIAGE.

4. FRIENDS and FAMILY, In marriage is where all the four Greek meaning of are found together and allowed only in a marriage and there is no INCEST. Love in Greek has 4 words;

• Agape, Divine love
• Phileo, Friendly love
• Storge, Family love
• Eros, Erotic love

                So in MARRIAGE IS WHERE Heaven has BLESSED YOUR EROTIC ESCAPADES and ACTIONS. In MARRIAGE IS WHERE YOU ARE HAVING SOME INTIMATE RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR FRIEND AND RELATIVE BUT IT IS NOT SIN.

                This is PROTECTION FROM Friends because no friend should be closer than your spouse and no Family member should Not be closer than your spouse. Because you cannot sleep with your family members or friends. SO THIS TELLS YOU THAT FRIENDS AND FAMILY ARE INTRUDERS WHEN YOUR SPOUSE IN NOT NO. 1 FRIEND AND NO. 1 FAMILY MEMBER. Please Marriage is to protect you from them, and Know that if you don’t protect your marriage from these INTRUDER FAMILY AND FRIENDS, KNOW THAT THEY WILL NEVER MARRY YOU.

Mat 18:18, 20  Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

Jesus was not just talking here without sense, He was looking at MARRIAGE IN A VERY CLEAR PICTURE. This is HEAVENLY PROTECTION STATED VERY CAREFULLY, when a couple can agree on anything on earth because the two shall agree and even if there is a child or children just agree on anything on earth, HEAVEN WILL HAVE RECEIVED A COMMAND, Jesus confirms by saying ‘It shall be done for them of my father which is in heaven’.

PROTECTION OF ANY HOME AND BACKING OF ANY HOME AND IN MARRIAGE IF THERE IS COMPANIONSHIP, ONENESS OR UNITY AND NO INTRUDER WILL BE ALLOWED BECAUSE THE INTRUDER WILL BE BOUND ON EARTH AND HEAVENS BARS THEM.

SO PLEASE MARRIAGE WAS MADE FOR PROTECTION AND IT PROTECTS IF THERE IS COMPANIONSHIP BUILT IN LOVE.

5. COMPLETE

Having all the necessary or appropriate parts, having run its full course; finished.

Marriage as we have seen is for companionship means there is company, it is not for one person, it is only in marriage that two become one.

Gen 2:18  And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

When God created everything in the book of Genesis 1,  and after completing things in v25 then the Bible says “AND GOD SAW IT WAS GOOD”. Then after creating Adam and then after Adam naming all the animals then God said “IT IS NOT GOOD THAT THE MAN SHOULD BE ALONE”. The good for God is not comparative adjective which is trying to compare things BUT PURPOSEFULLY THIS IS NOT GOOD. Which means depending on the things I have given man, to Multiply, to be fruitful and to replenish the earth and have dominion, this will be very SUBSATNDARD and my purpose with man will not be fulfilled as I have purposed it.

So when God said IT IS NOT GOOD THAT THIS MAN SHOULD BE ALONE, it was comparative to animals BUT IT WAS TOWARDS THE PURPOSE WITH WHICH MAN WAS CREATED AS STATED IN GENESIS 1:26, when God was thinking of creating a man, which the bible records it,

Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Then after creating man as purposed the bible records what happened like this,

Gen 1:28. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

The bible records the scene very and tells us that, GOD BLESSED THEM, then God said to THEM, BE FRUITFUL AND MULTIPLY AND REPLENISH THE EARTH AND SUBDUE AND HAVE DOMINION……” so simply, GOD IS GIVING THEM PURPOSE and this was given to THEM, and the bible states in v 27 …….male and female He created them.

So the role of Multiplication and Replenishing [refilling] cannot be done by a man or woman to woman. That is why Jesus stated it carefully,* ….have you not heard that Him that created them, made them MALE AND FEMALE.* Math 19:5

Grammatically speaking Jesus used TWO WORDS PERFECTLY which are CREATED AND MADE,

CREATE, bring (something) into existence, google has told us that creating is bring to existence which in simple is bring from nothing to something.

MADE, form by putting parts together or combining substances; after bring to existence then making here is aligning to a necessary purpose to fulfill their jobs as designed so that everyone will be depended on another person.

By this my understanding that probably they would have looked the same without making the them or realigning them differently. So for man or woman to complete for the task ahead of them is to be together and that is mostly in marriage. It is not someone cannot achieve some as an individual BUT for the PURPOSE OF FRUITFULNESS, MULTIPLICATION, REPLESHING the EARTH it should be done within the MARRIAGE CONTEXT. As I mentioned last time that THE DEVIL HAS BEEN FIGHTING THIS ISSUE OF MARRIAGE, because it is the union which God blessed and MANDATED THAT IT SHOULD BE THE PLATFORM FOR MULTIPLICATION, FRUITFULNESS AND REPLESNISHING. So nowadays the devils want that EVERY MAN AND WOMAN JUST TO MULTIPLY OUTSIDE MARRIAGE, which has not been very good. But I than the Lord Jesus because He is MERCIFUL THAT HE CAN GIVE US ANOTHER CHANCE THAT EVEN IF WE HAVE MADE THIS MISTAKE AND SIN, He is able to forgive us and embrace us once again. The bible says HE HAS REDEEMED US …. Rev. 5:9. THE DEVIL IS ALSO FIGHTING AGAINST THIS MARRIAGE THAT HE DOESN’T ALLOW THE MARRIED TO STAY IN PIECE because he pushing for divorce even separation BECAUSE GOD BLESSED THEM.

The term HELP-MEET has been interpreted differently by different people. With me I just want to pick it literally, HELPMEET,

HELP, make it easier or possible for (someone) to do something by offering them one’s services or resources.

Google has helped us by saying make it easier or possible for someone to do something by offering service. In a simpler language, the thing being done can be IMPOSSIBLE OR HAD TO DO WITHOUT THE HELP OR SERVICE THE OTHER PERSON IS GIVING. For these purpose to be complete THERE MUST BE SRVICES OFFERED ALONG THE WAY.

MEET, (of a group of people) assemble for a purpose.

In simple HUSBAND AND WIFE ASSEMBLE FOR A PURPOSE, That is MARRIAGE BEING COMPLETING. HELPMEET is now in my view Coming together to make your purpose earsier and possible.

Ladies who are reading this who are NOT MARRIED please for God’s sake Look for any man who has a PURPOSE with whom when you get married and your marriage will be a meeting to fulfill your purpose together which makes marriage more fun and enjoyable. AND IF YOU ARE MARRIED FOR YOUR LIFE TO BE PURPOSEFUL YOU NEED TO KNOW THE CALLING IN YOUR MARRIAGE WHICH YOU NEED TO ACCOMPLISH TOGETHER RATHER THAN BOTH OF YOU DOING YOUR OWN THINGS DIFFERENTLY.

Men who are here you need to read the book of Proverbs 31:1-9, what Lamuels mother prophesied to him, that we should be very careful with women, wine and strong drink. Focus your energy to your wife not women. I think you understand me women are general ladies BUT WIFE IS SPECIAL WOMAN FOR YOU. YOUR WIFE. She also said MEN SHOULD BE FOCUSED ON PURPOSE, JUSTICE, RIGHTIOUSNESS AND DEVELOPMENT AND THEM GOD WILL BRING A VIRTIOUS WOMAN [v10-31] BEFORE YOU AND ACT KINGLY AND THIS WOMAN WILL COME AND YOU WILL BE ABLE TO FULFILL PURPOSE.

So completeness in MARRIAGE IS BY DESIGN and when you look at all the great leader, presidents, Bishops, Pastors, Governors. All those who worked and walked well with their WIVES/HUSBANDS became very great even after retiring LIVES INFLUENCED MANY, Not MEN THAT WHEN THEY HAVE FOUND SOME HELPMEET AND THEY BECOME SLIGHTLY SUCCESSFUL THEY MARRY ANOTHER HELPHARM that destroys everything. There are WIVES THAT WHEN THEY JUST GET AN UPPER HAND TO HER HUSBAND THEY CHANGE OR KILL. PLEASE THIS IS THE DEVIL BRINGING THIS.

THE COMPLETENESS IS ALSO BROUGHT ABOUT BY THE ROLES THAT WOMEN AND MEN PLAY IN THE MARRIAGE. Which we are going to study later in the future.
